Ivy Zamora is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from National University. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Cognitive Sciences at the University of California, Irvine. Ivy has been licensed since 2013. She has extensive experience working with students diagnosed with ADHD and Autism and prior to becoming a therapist, she worked in the field of Applied Behavioral Analysis as a program coordinator. Ivy completed her internship at a non profit organization working with children and families.
In addition, Ivy has worked in an inpatient substance abuse treatment center where she counseled individual adults and their families in recovery. During her time working with co-occurring disorders, Ivy took interest in the relationship between trauma and addiction. She has received specialized training with trauma and is trained to perform EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She works with children, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in areas related to adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral management in children, substance abuse, and codependency. Her approach to therapy is based on the individual's circumstances. She utilizes various modalities of treatment which include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Mindfulness Techniques, and Solution Focused Therapy.
